Innovation & Solutions

1991-95

NBPT was a big deal in the early 90s. The newest generation of aircraft at the time did not have a pre-phase before connection capability.  So if and when the external power unit was energized, the aircraft (and the phase rotation of either the aircraft or the external power source) was not in sync. The power source would have to absorb very high current exchanges until phasing was synched. FCX was the first (and only) to be able to handle this condition. Because of our converters capabilities, we were instrumental in helping MD and Boeing write new phasing programs on their aircraft. A few years later, this eventually became a non issue. Nevertheless, several applications still need this ability (e.g., missile and radar power supplied). FCX is still the leader in these applications because of our unique capabilities.

1995

Only approved SSFC for Patriot Missile Governors Award For Exporting Excellence.

1993

First UL listed converter / manufacturer. We still build to this level of quality and codes.

1992

  • Recommended SS unit for all Boeing, MD, & Airbus Aircraft
  • Because of our work on the NBPT, we became the first approved SSFC for Airbus as well

1991

  • We produced the only Converter to handle NBPT (No Break Power Transfer)
  • Designed (SSFC) to improve Aegis Radar.
